Living art dance studios core classes
Children’s Class
Preschool age 4 By Dec. 31 and Kindergarten
This class creates an interest in dance, helps develop rhythm, encourages cooperation and improves motor skills.
Pre-Ballet
1st and 2nd grades
These classes continue pre-school dance development. In addition, musicality and dance coordination are taught in preparation for classical ballet. Tap dancing is included in the 1st and 2nd grades. Recital dances will be a combination of classical ballet steps and musical theatre style choreography.
Classical Ballet
3rd – 4th grades
The emphasis in these grades is on ballet terminology, body placement and correct use of feet and legs through proper turnout. Tap dancing is included in the 3rd and 4th grades. Recital dances will be a combination of classical ballet steps and musical theatre style choreography.
Cecchetti Ballet Technique
5th – 12th grades
All students must enroll in ballet
Living Art Dance Studio is affiliated with the Cecchetti Council of America. The CCA is dedicated to maintaining the standards and method of classical ballet training established by Cavalier Enrico Cecchetti. Cecchetti training is a rigorous method which pays careful attention to the laws of anatomy. It develops all of the qualities essential to the dancer: balance, poise, strength, spring/bounce, elevation, and elasticity. It is classic in its purity and clear-cut style. Cecchetti examiners are in the studio once a year to certify student candidates through examination.

Tap classes develop rhythm, quick foot work, balance and transference of weight and stress the importance of cooperation.
jazz
1st – 12th grades
Classical Jazz technique is the main emphasis along with todays current styles.
Musical Theatre
5th – 12th grades
Musical Theatre utilizes ballet, tap and jazz steps. As part of our curriculum, students will be able to explore classical Broadway and movie musical styles of dance. Musical Theatre is incorporated as part of the students’ jazz class and is included in their jazz class tuition.
